An undergraduate student currently studying a Master’s in Education at the University of Derby to enable me to secure a future in a career where I feel fulfilled and valued. I was assessed as Outstanding for my third-year placement against the Teaching Standard’s where I completed all of the hours required to achieve QTS Status. I have recently finished my third year and I am progressing into my final year, where I will specialise in Subject La dership for Humanities along with conducting my Independent Study. I am passionate about providing children with education from all ethnic groups and geographical locations. I currently volunteer at The Online School teaching Key Stage One English lessons over Zoom for any child who has access to a computer enabling them to access high-quality education. I am enthusiastic about teaching children and supporting them to make the required progress expected for their age whilst adapting my teaching to meet individual learning needs.

I graduated from university two years ago with a First Class degree in Mathematics. As you will see from my attached resume I have several years of experience tutoring GCSE and above students in the build up to exams. This required me to plan lessons, set student goals, and adapt to the individual needs of my students. I adapt work and learning to different levels and abilities, and give a tailored experience to each student, because every individual learns differently. I always aim to provide engaging and interesting lessons and get the best out of students of all ability levels, working on the confidence of the student as well as the knowledge itself and exam approach. Maths is a challenging subject so keeping things simple and working step by step helps the student click things into place. Having been homeschooled for part of my early education puts me in a unique position to understand the difficulties many students are currently facing, both in learning at home and returning to school after a long break. Furthermore, being disabled myself, I am in a strong position to understand the needs of chronically ill and disabled students. I am available to tutor both online and at my home, and have a current enhanced DBS certificate.

I have almost 2 years of experience as a Science tutor at all levels (including GCSE and A-Levels) and my skills closely align with the responsibilities required for this role. I am an enthusiastic and friendly individual with a particular interest in teaching and academics. I have excellent communication skills, and I am able to adapt to different types of students to ensure that I build a rapport with them. I have always valued education and I believe I am a hardworking individual who strives to help her students achieve their maximum potential. Not only this, but I am dedicated to ensuring that my lessons are friendly and enjoyable, as I believe that students are more likely to excel if they are motivated to do so.
