I have finished my Zoology Honours Degree and am waiting for my overall grade. I have been predicted a First Class and have been offered two applicant places to study veterinary medicine at Bristol and Harper Adams University. I have a strong passion for biology and its surrounding disciplines and therefore my expertise include zoology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, statistics and microbiology. I am just as eager to learn as I am to teach and thrive on a challenge and believe this will aid me in understanding what each individual student needs, deciphering how they work best and providing a fun, passionate learning experience for them. Having completed my own A-Levels and GCSEs 3-5 years ago means I am strongly familiar with core concepts and specifications. As all of the biology Curriculums cover organic/inorganic/ biochemistry, animal tissues, ecology and evolution, homeostasis and infections and responses, I have a broad knowledge in the following due to my zoology degree, veterinary work experience, volunteering and conference speaking. Being aware of curriculum changes and having experienced them half-way through my own courses, I am aware of how daunting concepts can appear and aim to provide an enthusiastic and engaging approach to facilitate student learning, no matter how long it takes and in a way that is contextualised, giving them a feel of real life biology and how it is applied, rather than just a question or a section in a textbook, which can make it harder to understand. Being a creative thinker and having an artistic background, I like to explore alternative solutions to problems and enjoy encouraging student thoughts and ideas to ensure that they will get the most out of the learning experience and improve their confidence when faced with key ideas and concepts.
