About Tutor

I am a highly experienced teacher, with over 30 years classroom experience teaching a wide variety of different types of learner, from age 11 upwards and for all qualification levels from GCSE to PhD. I also have 20 years online and distance learning experience. I am professionally qualified in teaching and also specifically in teaching EFL. I have also taught English for Academic Purposes for the University of Leeds. I am a very energetic and supportive teacher, well able to identify the individual needs of particular learners and to adapt teaching to mixed ability class contexts. I make learning fun and engaging, but always with a focus on achieving desired learning outcomes. I have held significant student counselling roles at various times in my career. I have very extensive experience in course and programme design, as well as quality assurance and assessment. I am professional and come to class well prepared, but have sufficient experience to be able to depart from the script where that is best for the prevailing class situation. I have a foremost reputation for being honest, trustworthy, fair, kind and hard working.
